Chang La is a high mountain pass on the route from Leh toward Pangong Lake, known for steep roads, prayer flags, snow in season, and wide views across barren ridges. It is usually a short acclimatisation-aware stop rather than a long stay, but it gives travellers a strong sense of the altitude and scale of eastern Ladakh. The pass is best experienced as part of a Pangong itinerary, with careful pacing, warm layers, and weather flexibility because conditions can shift quickly.
