Discover Khardung La
About the destination
Khardung La is one of Ladakh's landmark high mountain passes and the classic gateway between Leh and Nubra Valley. Travellers stop here for prayer flags, snow patches in season, milestone photographs, and the feeling of crossing from the Leh basin into a more remote cold-desert landscape. The visit is usually short because of altitude, but the road experience is memorable: steep climbs, wide views, changing weather, and a clear sense of Ladakh's scale. It is best planned after proper acclimatisation in Leh.
